The entire Cars4fungarage is made up of me (a bit of a workaholic) Marty and my soul mate Týna, who is in charge of everything related to upholstery, all possible details, cleaning and brings the right feminine perspective, cleanliness and care to the whole thing. Anyone who knows me knows that I would like to give myself away in all directions, but unfortunately, it is simply not possible after a certain amount, we devote everything to it at the expense of everything else and both of us, so I apologize in advance if I do not respond to any questions/advice, etc. in a timely manner. All solutions around, extensive repairs, ordering parts, solving complications (and sometimes there are some with our joys), receiving cars/handing them over, the advisor on the phone is sometimes just hell, those who have not experienced it will not understand, but the most important thing about the whole thing is that we simply enjoy it and it fulfills us ❤️

Preferred communication:


In connection with the general info point - Please communicate mainly via messages, ideally on FB/INSTA, and in case of a question, describe the problem as briefly as possible. The reason why I like to direct everything to messages is mainly due to the traceability in the number of corrections and the overall overview, without the need to remember everything on 100%. I try to respond within 3 days at most, or feel free to remind me, I will be only too happy. If I answer briefly, don't take it badly at all.

Order/description of defect/problem:


Please describe the problem, information about the car (designation/KW/or vin.), what the previous service was, or what could have preceded the problem. If you are planning a more extensive inspection/service, preparation for the season, etc., please write in advance (at least 2 months) and we will definitely figure it out, but I am not able to fine-tune a more precise date more than a week in advance in connection with if there is a rush for your repair from the time of receipt, given the nature/scope of the repairs I am solving. I never know exactly what awaits me and whether I will have the car here for you for a week or a month. Regarding quick repairs, we will agree depending on the current workload. I do my best, but we all know how it is, especially with older used cars. Also, please don't forget to set a limit according to which we will direct the repair, especially in the case of a more extensive repair/renovation. 

Repair procedure:


The car will be checked as a whole (what is normally visible without the need to disassemble the entire car) + diagnostics/live data, or parallel diagnostics/oscilloscope. We will discuss what is urgent and what can wait, what to do preventively and prepare a preliminary budget and then it is up to you. Please keep in mind that in the case of repairing an older car, the budget may change depending on the specific repair and the extent of the real damage after dismantling. We will confirm any additional parts together. Unless you want otherwise, regular repairs are made of original parts in combination with a second-hand product from the same manufacturer that I have tested for the original (almost comparable quality). Such a combination from my own experience. Please specify any requirements in advance and we will make a preliminary budget accordingly.

Major repairs/overhaul


For more extensive repairs/overhauls, please keep in mind that the repair costs a lot of money, but you probably won't get a new car, transmission, or engine. So consider whether you want to keep the car for a few more years so that you don't regret it later. Every old car (even one that cost a lot of money to buy new, or was neglected) needs a major service at some point, and if you can't do it yourself from your own purchased parts with a low margin, it's sometimes a big deal. In the case of repairs/semi-repairs/overhauls of more complex parts of the car, as well as in other services where currently damaged components are replaced, the warranty only applies to these parts. The probability is slim, but if, God forbid, the gearbox shaft, the internal seal of the gearbox basket, or the original piston breaks in the future, the old injector fails, causing a gap, and similar unfortunate things that simply cannot be ruled out or predicted in advance (everything would have to be replaced), the warranty logically cannot apply to such a problem, since it was not the subject of repair/did not show a defect during repair. The probability of these things is really small, but I have to mention it and I myself try to recommend replacing as many common/connected components as possible during repair that can cause a fatal failure, however, standard "fixed" parts that do not show a defect are not changed unless the customer wishes otherwise. Of course, everything depends on the budget and we proceed according to the manufacturer/service manual. There are exceptions if the engine/transmission is built for a certain load/racing purposes, etc. I will be happy to say more on this topic in the comments. Steering wheel/upholstery renovation


Steering wheel renovation, upholstery, individual interior renovation is in charge of Týna. We will be happy to handle whatever you can think of for her/us - we will think of it together and make it happen. There is really no limit to ideas 🧐😅 We try to deliver steering wheels by appointment within 2-3 days of receipt. We have common steering wheel materials in stock in black (the rest can be ordered) - original Hans Reinke Alcantara, steering wheel leather, rough nappa or smooth nappa and perhaps all thread colors. Automatic transmissions


Automatic transmissions and other transmissions/differentials in general, as well as the engine, are particularly sensitive to the quality and age of the oil, which is unfortunately often neglected in this regard. Preventive maintenance/inspection and regular and timely oil changes are important!! When the standard interval is somewhere between 40-60kkm + possibly adjusted according to the use/load of the car. Since most automatic transmissions are controlled only by oil pressure, which is controlled/adjusted and determined by mechatronics (the brain of the transmission), problems such as wear of clutches/converters/etc. often come from the failure of the mechatronics itself. Therefore, for example, if the converter fails, repairs cannot be solved quickly by replacing the converter, as it will probably have a drastically reduced service life. It is also not possible to give a guarantee on the converter if the rest is not checked during the installation of the new converter (correct output pressure from the mechatronic unit and so on). Another big mistake is in the overall use of automatic transmissions, when, especially in the case of modified cars (chip), sporty driving/sharp/transient acceleration in D mode is used. In such a case, most transmissions use a different internal setting/map and total output pressure, which causes greater slippage and thus a reduction in service life. If you like to take a ride, always switch to S mode, or manual, if the vehicle supports it. In connection with this topic, it is necessary to say that along with the adjustment of the performance, the adjustment of the transmission should go hand in hand. Depending on the performance, the adjustment of the software or hardware, when for example 6HP/8HP and DCT transmissions is solved by the adjustment of the SW XHP Flash, which we also offer. This is a gearbox modification specifically to handle more NM (torque) and also less slippage overall + tons of other settings/options, including better behavior of D mode - no engine revving, etc. For an example of automatic gearbox repairs click here.



Performance adjustments


We offer complete consultancy in the area of performance modifications. If you want to advance your car in any technical/performance way, we will be happy to propose a complete list of necessary, or optimal modifications, precisely tailored to your needs, from the engine to the chassis/brake system. We need to know from you the assumptions for the resulting performance/overall idea + what your plans are for using the car, the more information you give us, the better. The entire setup can best be set up and the car built accordingly. It is important to say here that this part of the modifications is very demanding and few people have any precise and ideally realistically tested/analog measured/checked data and output values. Then there are a lot of total misconceptions on the internet that do not come from a quality performance workshop at all and are spread here and there because someone who supposedly understands it just said so and so. Unfortunately, a lot of people are willing to do it and it spreads like an avalanche across the internet. Let's just say that most of the real know-how will not be given to you online anywhere. 🙂 Therefore, get real advice from people who are fully dedicated to this, whether it is us or another company that has demonstrably good reviews and history. We are fully dedicated to this topic and cars in general, so we will be happy to help you with everything and I believe that after our explanation you will be clear about everything. Chiptuning/performance modifications


Chiptuning/performance modification, basically anyone can do it for you today, even remotely, if you have the opportunity to download/upload the map yourself and given the possibility of paying for a file service abroad - a service where the provider will modify the map for you within an hour and send it back (it doesn't necessarily have to be bad), this is quite widespread among XX companies that provide these services in our country and they do it purely for profit. There are certainly plenty of companies that do it right, but there are really only a handful of them and you will definitely pay much more than 3000 CZK for a basic modification. There are also plenty of cases where you pay for the modification, but no one actually modified it for you, you just have a temporary placebo effect - I unfortunately dealt with this too. Be very careful with this... Well, what are we going to do, the tuning scene is generally quite toxic, everyone mostly just throws dirt at the other and he is the only and best GURU, but he can't even explain what the other person is doing wrong - well, what can you think about that, right?? Regarding the overall performance adjustment, it is also necessary to say that you may have already heard nonsense in the form of - the car needs to be tuned only on the brake, otherwise it is not possible!!! 😀 So let's break it down - yes, the brake is optimal for measuring performance, or some more complex tuning of a very powerful car, when tuning and measuring values on the road is not entirely safe, or even possible at all, which is not the case with ordinary adjustments. Anyway, the best thing is to combine these two things together, since nothing can replace a real road, but it is definitely not always necessary, since the brake only simulates driving on the road and somewhat facilitates the entire tuning process. However, both on the brake and on the road, the same values from diagnostics are measured, as is the external connection of sensors/probes. It is also necessary to say that the basic STAGE 1 performance adjustments (standard vehicle setup/increase in performance by a few % - the most common adjustments) are not dangerous at all and it is not absolutely necessary to log in any complicated way and make any drama about it and even less to measure on the brake. It is of course good to do an initial and basic check of the car and the subsequent final exit log from the ride just to be sure (but this is not absolutely necessary either). But we do it that way even in stage 1 and that is why we do not even do basic chiptuning while waiting. I will be happy to share more in the comments on the Instagram/Facebook page.
